Article on Antiperspirant/Deodorant

If you are using antiperspirant/deodorant, please read this. All sweat glands on the body play a major role of ridding the body of toxins. There are three categories of sweat glands on the body: apoeccrine, eccrine and apocrine. The apocrine sweat glads are the largest and are situated in different parts of the body. For the purpose of this post, we will focus on the ones that live in the armpits. Antiperspirants are literally designed to stop the flow of sweat from the apocrine glands which our bodies use to rid the body of toxins. These toxins, found in antiperspirants and deodorants (as well as many "natural" deodorants) find it easy to enter the body through these glands as they remain enlarged and flood the lymph nodes with chemicals which are then trapped by the very chemicals you are applying to block perspiration. The outcome could be a compromised immune system, or worse, cancer. One of the main ingredients used in these products is propylene glycol, next time you are on a plane, and they have to de-ice the plane wings…look at what the side of the truck says…yes, you guessed it…propylene glycol. Please remember this industry is completely unregulated. It is up to us to educate each other and to vote with our dollars.
